| Bio: | AGE STATEMENT: Ahem. We are both dignified, mature, consenting adults. Okay, so we are both over eighteen- well over. Meaning we can legally read whatever raunchy stories we can get our eyes on. About Us : These stories are the work of two starving, reclusive writers. In love and irrelevently bisexual as we have been together since '02 and plan to marry one of these days. No kids (two miscarriages so far). Writing, gaming and pets pretty much run our lives. Writing with a partner has been an experience, we are so different in so many ways, and yet it seems to work! Love and respect go a long way, in anything... We have written together and separately under numerous pennames: Okaydy, kaydyy, magonin, Yes, ShadowPen, XxaloneinlifexX, luck_eme, quix_otic, vivid white, JustUs, IAmNotLost, mk_km. We thought it was time to get it all together, although we may still throw stories out there under other names to gauge response without being typecast. All work will end up here, though. So, if you read something that seems familiar, it's probably ours and wandered too far. Unless of course, it's stolen, (not under one of the pennames above) which we would appreciate you letting us know about so we can point these misguided souls to where there are stories worthy of theft for them to pilfer. FAQ: Why have warnings on stories? It is simple courtesy to let readers know what they're in for, especially if there's sex, violence or anything out of the ordinary, like incest. In some places around the world, incest may be illegal to even read about. Also, some subject matter is 'squickable', meaning it bothers people on a gut level; rape and male pregnancy are two that come immediately to mind.(although we don't write Mpreg) So, take heed-- if your nature is too delicate for such please don't stop to read. All stories are coded with warnings to help prevent any emotional trauma to readers. What do you write about that needs all these warnings? We're fascinated with the darker side of human nature, I have no idea why, that's just us. If it has or has had cultural significance, we'll write about it, including slavery and abuse, and we don't pull any literary punches in doing so. We write raw, explicit in your face comedy and tragedy. Erotica is used to enhance, not take the place of, plot and romance and most involve male relationships. There are no light, fluffy stories on this site(although with the happy endings most of our stories have, we sometimes call it dark fluff). We write about ancient Roman slavery, futuristic sci-fi horror and genetically engineered humans, mutants, orphans, and armegedden. Our characters are usually fighting against impossible odds. Bravery, heroism, sacrifice and holding to the smallest sparks of hope, the tenacity the human spirit is capable of is the true innocence, as well as the true wonder of it. Fate is stepping into the extraordinary lives within these stories, or perhaps it is extraordinary fate into ordinary lives, for good or for bad, and the struggle is the story, the winning is the ending. What exactly do these warnings mean? Here is a list of the warnings used for our stories. AU -- Alternative Universe. Different universe from our own in whatever ways we wish to change it. Angst --- the character is experiencing anguish of one sort or another. Abuse--- one character being mean to another, age not important. BDSM ---Bondage, Discipline, Dominance, Sadism, Submission, Masochism. Refers to a livestyle between consenting adults with combinations of any or all of these things. Bondage -- tied or chained or caged, whether consensual or not. D/S -- domination, submission. One person submitting his/her will to another. May be forced or not. SH -- sexual harrassment S/M -- sadism, masochism. A sadist likes inflicting humiliation or pain, a masochist enjoys the receiving end. Fluff -- light-hearted situations, sometimes sappy or humorous. H/C -- hurt, comfort. A character is hurt or in trouble in some way, another comforts and/or rescues him/her. N/C -- also called non-con or rape, non-consensual sex. POV -- point of view. The character whose eyes you're seeing through. Can change or switch during a story. Tort, viol--- torture, violence, self-explainatory. -will add to this list as needed What is erotica, pornography and fan service? Ah, but these be some blurry lines! Here's Wiki: Erotica includes literature, photography, film, sculpture and painting that deals substantively with erotically stimulating or sexually arousing descriptions. Erotica is a modern word used to describe the portrayal of the human anatomy and sexuality with high-art aspirations, differentiating such work from pornography-- the sole purepose of which is sexual. We find a certain amount of erotica enhances a story. That is fan service. Adding what could be left out, or left to the imagination simply because it tickles and/or shocks the reader. Bad us ;) What is considered kinky, a fetish or perverted? Basically, if some one is turned on by situations or objects not actually sexual, that's a fetish. Take feet for example, which is a common fetish. Someone could be aroused by feet themselves, by the type of stockings or shoes worn, or by what the feet are doing. No matter, all three are fetishes. If neither the one with the fetish nor anyone else is distressed or harmed by it, it's normal and healthy. Yes, even if it's rape, as long as the person can differentiate between real life and fantasy. Having a rape fetish or fantasy does not mean that person wishes to actually be raped, desires to rape anyone or condones it in any way. Kinky refers to actual sexual practices that act to heighten the intimacy between sexual partners. Spanking or bondage for example. Fetishes could be incorporated into this, and as long as it's safe, sane and consensual, it is also normal and healthy. The uninformed might call such practices perverted-- in other words, deviating from social rules or norm-- however, truly, they are not. Real deviant behavior-- for instance, real rapists-- are criminals and need to be locked up, preferably with their testicles removed. Why do you write about such subjects? Without getting too personal here, the writing is often cathartic. As is the reading of it for some; it is a chance to help heal past wounds, being in control of the situation and with the abused character being saved (usually) at the end. Never assume a writer has much of a choice what to write about, they are limited by their experiences, by their muses and imaginations. While we're on this subject, let's have a word on the ages of the characters. Almost exclusively, there are no explicit scenes of a sexual nature involving characters under the age of consent. However, if we felt the need to write about it, we would, and readers can be assured there is a reason. That's what writers DO. Writers who do not tone down in hopes of publication or to fit anyone else's standards put themselves, heart and soul, on the line and it's the readers choice not to partake. There should not be taboos in fiction. It's fiction. What about your personal views on society and sex? Which society? Where? When? This could easily turn into a history lesson and a cultural comparison. Old, rich men --and women now, too, flatteringly called 'cougars'-- in the United States buy themselves young trophy wives and lovers all the time. Only laws keep any semblence of boundaries (just ask that American icon of success, Donny Trump). It was just as accepted, and no less damaging, if damaging it is or was, for the ancient Greeks and Romans to bed their prepubescent slaves. Lists of examples could be made of comparisons such as this, but to what point? Intelligent people do not judge what they don't understand, if they have enough interest in it, they learn all they can and then use that knowledge; not to condemn the past or even the present, but to change the future, and if enough people strive for change, eventually it will happen. Apathy, jealousy, stupidity and intolerance-- these are the enemies of enlightenment. That's all folks. Do you like happy endings? Do we ever! Sappy sometimes, especially considering all that came before. Actual dark fics have their place, and we've done a couple short ones. But to write novellas or novels without seeing the more than likely long-suffering protagonist find love and peace would be too much angst, even for us. In fact, it is the ending that makes writing the rest tolerable. So, yes.
